Toxic Shame

Toxic Shame is a direct result of childhood trauma that causes a prolonged state of unworthiness. It is very difficult to overcome these feelings as they’re deeply rooted at the foundation of the past traumatic experiences.

How to cope with this?

Think of this emotional state as a staircase. You cannot just run up the stairs and switch the emotion into a different emotion. This is a daily process of taking baby steps up the emotional staircase. This is about selfcare, healthy coping skills and healing the inner child within that is feeling this level of shame and guilt.
