Many people spend their entire lives aimlessly walking around trying to understand more fully what their lives mean. How can anyone really know?
“The mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for.
Fyodor Dostoyevsky
How do you learn what your life purpose is?
If experiences and time itself taught us what our life purpose was; than most people on the planet would have a great idea of what they are and what they’re doing but yet the majority of people on this Earth, have not even answered the basic question of who they are. While this section is not meant to dive into the deep understanding of who you are, it is meant to help you locate your current purpose on this earth. Keep in mind, your purpose will change based on your experiences and perspectives of your reality.
First, ask yourself what is your name?
This is important. While your name does not define who you really are. Just simply ask yourself what is your name.
Second, ask yourself what you do?
What is your current career? What is the purpose of that career? (Are you a customer service representative… is that to help others?)
Third, what do you want to do?
Be honest with yourself. Are you doing what you want to do? If not what is the core thing that you really want to do?
Fourth, how does this benefit others?
Honestly, explain to yourself how this benefits others.
Then put it all together and that’s your life purpose. Let me show you below with my example.
I am Brittany Larson. I empower others to live a more emotionally fulfilling happy life. My purpose here on this planet is to be that bridge between realms, realities and dimensions to better help others to grow, thrive and become empowered through emotional healing.
Can you see how I took what I’m already doing and I combined the benefits that it offers others? This is a quick way to focus and hone in on what you are really all about. I often look back at this statement to remind myself what I’m doing and why I’m doing it. That is my underlying motive and intention that will drive me to do daring innovated things to push myself more into my aligned purpose.
It’s truly up to you how you define yourself and what you want to offer to others. There are no right or wrong answers to this question of your life purpose, there is only a choice. What will you choose!?
